About:
Plone's calendaring options are adequate, and there a plenty of add-on products, but a good overall assessment of calendaring needs to be done for the benefit of Plone itself. The focus of this sprint is to examine the strengths and weaknesses of Plone's existing calendaring options, of the add-on products, and determine what needs to be done to be more cohesive, without trying to build a monster product that sinks under its own weight.
Date & Location:
Friday, Dec 02, 2005 -
Monday, Dec 05, 2005
San Francisco, California, USA
Hosted by Black Rock City/Burning Man
Mailing list: sprints@lists.plone.org
IRC: irc://irc.freenode.net/#calsprint
Financial:
Although Burning Man will be hosting the event, there are added costs to hosting a sprint. We are hoping to alleviate the expenses of the sprint by charging a nominal fee to attend. This fee will ensure that there is food and beer.
Cost to attend that CalSprint is $50 or €42. This will cover your local sprint-based travel expenses (to and from the location), lunch, dinner, power, 'net access, late night sprintwiches, and of course, beer. This does not cover things like local entertainment, waking up late and missing your ride, needed a hotel room, etc.
Many of the folks who are interested in attending live here in the San Francisco Bay Area already, but for those who are visiting from out of town, please contact us early to make accomodation arrangements. I know that I can, and plan to host several sprinters at my house. (I can comfortably sleep about 8 extra people at my house.)
Sponsoring Sprinters:
If you desire to contribute to the cost of the sprint, or help a remote sprinter make it all the way from East Jabip, contact us and we'll discuss.
Participant List:
We are limited to about 15 people, maybe a few more. Please sign upto the ParticipantList if you are interested in attending and are able to cover your own travel expenses to San Francisco. If you are extremely interested in calendaring, are a skilled developer and have trouble with travel expenses, contcat us and we'll see what we can do to help you out. NOTE: You do not have to travel to San Francisco to participate in the sprint! I will be doing my best to make remote participation fun and easy. We will use the multimedia resources available to us to get anyone who wants to help out, able to participate remotely. Of course, you will need to supply your own beer.
If you would like to participate, in the sprint, PLEASE join the mailing list sprints@lists.plone.org
Travel Plans:
Let us know your travel plans so we can keep things in order. Do not put your travel plans on the wiki, unless you have been confirmed on the .
