About the Trainer

Joel Burton teaches and consults on Plone for a living, offering 20+ classes a year, including the "Plone Bootcamp", considered for years to be the critical course teaching the central skills needed to build an effective Plone site. He has served as a core volunteer in the Plone project since 2002, and currently serves on the board of directors of the nonprofit Plone Foundation. Joel lives in San Francisco, California.

Audience

This course is appropriate for:

  • web designers
  • site builders/integrators
  • developers

Requirements

It does not require Plone experience (though if you have used Plone, you will get more out of it). It does require HTML knowledge and core CSS skills.

An excellent book to get you up to speed on the HTML and CSS skills you need is O'Reilly's Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML.

This is a hands-on class. You will want, if possible, to bring a laptop

with Plone installed (students will receive simple step-by-step instructions on how to set up their Plone site for class).

Registration

This course is open for registration. Please visit Plone Bootcamps for more details and to register.
