The chamber of Commerce of Ferrara, first Italian member of PloneGov, confirms its role of active promoter of the initiative in Italy. For the members of the “PloneGov Italia” community, the national branch launched last May, the 25 November event (online subscriptions are already active) will be the first opportunity to gather and measure their own strength.

The morning workshop will include the illustration of several case studies from some member Organizations, and will provide the needed space for discussion among members, some of which have already started to share their Plone solutions and to work in synergy on new projects.

PloneGov Italia itself may be regarded as an unique case study: while - in a general sense - PloneGov subcommunities tend to aggregate around specific Plone solutions, the Italian branch is more like a scaled-down version of PloneGov.org, as long as it is participated by very different organizations (including universities, hospitals, communes, provinces, departments, scientific institutions) having Plone technology as common denominator, without reference to any specific application. This allows an even more open and multifaceted sharing of Plone knowledge, and multiplies the opportunities of finding new operational scenarios for Plone. Furthermore, PloneGov Italia is a natural fit for those who use Plone and want to comply with the Italian Law, actively promoting the reuse of existing software among Public Organizations.
