A Plone content management system (CMS) offers advanced tools to manage your website structure, and how visitors and employees access its content. But how does that work exactly? What settings, formats, and advanced options does Plone provide?
The webmaster is the person appointed to the organizational and technical process of managing your website's configuration. Where previously the role of the webmaster was often regarded as merely a "content editor", now they are responsible for the site consistency and structure.
This one-day training gives a new Plone Webmaster an overview of the various functions of the Plone CMS and provides 'hands on' experience in configuring and managing a Plone Site.
Prerequisites
Participants in this training should have experience with the following:
- Is familiar with the information contained in our "Plone End User" training
- Is highly organized with a knowledge of website structure
- knowledge of and experience with basic web technology
Outcomes
At the end of the training, the participant will have knowledge of the following:
- Managing the website through the Plone Control Panel
- User management and security configuration of the CMS
- Workflow and publication configuration for the website
- Advanced content such as collections and their role in site constrution
- Creation and management of side panels (portlets) in the website
- Extra add-on product installation for Plone

The classes will have an enrollment limit of 8 people.
