The beer and wine sprint will be a super-sprint of 4 days, spanning two continents and involving 30 to 40 Plone developers.
Germany is well-known as a land of good beer and lots of Zope developers. Coincidence? Probably.
The majority of South African Plone developers have embedded themselves around the beautiful Winelands outside of Cape Town. Coincidence? Probably not.
The Munich crowd has shown that they can hold Konferences and sprints as well as anyone, and now they're risking their hard-won reputation by getting involved with a gaggle of South Africans.
Munich, home of the Oktoberfest, will host the Beer sprint at the Syslab offices. Their focus will mainly be on plone.app.multilingual, plone.app.contenttypes as well as Patternslib.
Cape Town, voted top tourist destination of 2011, will host the Wine sprint at the Praekelt offices in Cape Town. We will focus on going through the issue tracker and squashing bugs in the way of Plone 5.
Germany and South Africa are in the same timezone, and we will coordinate the two sprints via webcam and IRC.
We welcome any and all interested parties and participants! In the least you can join us virtually via IRC.
For more information, please visit the sprint's Coactivate page, or email Phillip Bauer for the Beer Sprint and JC Brand for the Wine Sprint.
