A 2-day workshop will be held on creating forms and content types for Plone at newthinking store in Berlin.

The workshop will cover:

  1. Moving from a development environment to a live system
    • Zope Enterprise Objects
    • Configuring the WebDAV and clock server
    • ZODBs: configure, pack and backup
    • Rotating log files
    • Caching
  2. Managing accounts with LDAP
    • Installation of the Plone-LDAP-connection
    • LDAP-scheme
    • Reproducable LDAP-configurations
  3. Upgrading and migrating Plone
    • Upgrade of Plone and third party products
    • Migration frameworks
    • Tips

Intended audience

The workshop targets primarily developers who want to use Plone for their web-based content management system.

Prerequisite

Some basic knowledge of Python, HTML and CSS is expected. Some previous hands-on experience with Zope and Plone would be helpful. Teaching language is German.

Tutor

Veit Schiele works as a communication designer and consultant. For seven years he implements various projects with Zope and Plone. He is board member of the DZUG association (German speaking Zope user group), also maintains Python and Zope at Hostsharing (webhosting association).
