Enable Favorites in Plone 2.1

Read on to learn how to enable the "Add to Favorites" functionality as well as how to display the Favorites portlet.

Begin by opening up the ZMI. Go to portal_actions. Scroll down until you see an action with the title Add to Favorites. Check the Visible? checkbox. Scroll down and click Save. You will now see the Add to Favorites link within the site among the document actions (see image below).

Now, go to the root of your plone site, and click on the Properties tab. Add a line in left_slots or right_slots (depending on where you want the portlet to show) with the text here/portlet_favorites/macros/portlet. Click Save Changes. You should now see the favorites portlet (image shows portlet added to right_slots).
