Create a Photo Album

How to use Plone's thumbnail display mode to create a photo album.

Create a Folder.
Find "Display" in the content menu bar, and set that folder's display mode to "thumbnail view".
Create folders within the folder you just created. Each of these subfolders could be considered an "album".
Upload images into those folders.

Your top level folder will display a thumbnail of the first image in each subfolder, and the subfolders will display thumbnails of the images they contain. Easy!
