About Profiling Books in the Documentation Section
Books that are highlighted on plone.org/documentation should fulfill the following criteria:
1) All in-print books that are really about Plone, except for (hopefully very rare) cases where we conclude that they are truly
out-of-date or poorly done;
2) Books on supporting technologies (Python, Zope, CSS) that are truly exceptional, and are strongly recommended in the community. Attention should be paid to the real estate required to list these books so that that look and feel is not compromised by extraneous listings.
If in doubt, the editorial board will make the final decision. In this case, an email should be sent to the plone-docs user list to request a decision. If an immediate decision cannot be made, it will be addressed during editorial board meetings.
In general, if a new book has been released into print, the author or other interested party should send an email to the plone-docs user list and request that their book be highlighted. Once the book has been accepted by the editorial board, the team that handles UI changes to the documentation section will make the updates, including adding a new book listings. (Authors should not do this themselves, except in the rare case where an author is on the editorial board and also the UI editor.)
