What are the advantages of Plone over a default install of CMF?

Plone extends and enhances the basic framework that CMF provides. Plone's user inteface is much nicer than cmfdefault, which is the part of the CMF that end-users see. The Plone documentation is generally very good, and the Plone Book takes you through a lot of the steps necessary to get a Plone site up and running. There are also some features that Plone adds, which you would have to create from scratch if you were to use CMF, things such as form validation, workflows, good looking default styles, and much, much more.
