This FAQ applies to: Plone 3.0.x, Plone 2.5.x, Plone 2.1.x, Plone 2.0.x

How do I adjust/change Base Properties? This FAQ shows you how to adjust the general look and feel of your plone site such as fonts and colors as well as some general properties. Changing the base_properties is a great way to change the CSS of your site quickly. To get even more control, you will want to adjust the css in portal_styles or create a custom theme for your site.

With appropriate role/permission

  1. go to site setup
  2. go to the ZMI
  3. go to portal_skins
  4. go to plone_styles
  5. go to base_properties (click on customize)
  6. customize as needed and save.

This action places the base_properties in the custom folder.

Once it is there you can find it at:

yourSite/portal_skins/custom/base_properties/manage_main

When you want to work on it, go to the custom folder and

  1. click on base_properties
  2. click on the properties tab

Customize as needed and save.
