Framework Team

by Hanno Schlichting last modified November 27, 2007 - 18:50

Responsible for feature evaluation and general guidance on architectural decisions. The Framework Team reviews and suggests features for inclusion in releases.

What does the Framework Team do?

The framework team is responsible for recommending code for inclusion in a Plone release to the release's manager.  In the release cycle, they drive the PLIP and bundle code review cycle. The voting members do the formal duty of collecting information from the community about bundles offered for review, and making the formal decision by voting whether to recommend them to the release manager.

Significant changes in Plone such as versioning should go through the Framework team (at least the team should have a good understanding and work with the plip submitter to ensure that impact/risk of adding the feature is under control).

NOTE: The Plone Community is still responsible for adding new features and submitting/patching bugs. The Framework team is only responsible to accept/reject PLIPs.

There's also a nice FAQ you should read if you have any questions.

Have a look at the current Members of the Framework Team.
