Proposal
This page is a copy of Roberto Allende's application to be member of the Plone foundation. And was done just to promote it.
Because of its size, the spanish market is to be considered as
strategic for the future of Plone. Because of the lack of Spanish
material and activities, my focus since (early date) had been to
produce marketing material, organize activities and networking. When i
started to get involved with Plone the lack of a strong community there
meant for me to travel to US or Europe to be an atendee in a sprint or
a Plone Talk, so we planned to work in order to foster a critic mass
and from start to do technical contributions. After two years promoting
Plone we've been able to found PloneConoSur and its first meeting, with
talks, courses and the first Plone sprint on the region.

Contributions Details
During 2006 i've been in 4 free software regional events just promoting Plone, traveling almost 4500km thorugh Latin America in more than 5 trips. During 2007 i had the opportunity to attend to international events such as FISL in Brazil and PloneGov sprint. Since there are not a big community in my region i focused most of my efforts to make plone known. After a year working i met some friends and with Xavier, Geod and Limi support we launched plone conosur in juanuary 2007. Right now PloneConoSur mailing list has more than 70 users and is one of the most active regional ones. Had translated documents tutorials and press releases that let promote plone on Spanish market, like the Plone 3 press release published on barrapunto (slashdot like site for spanish speakers) and meneame (diglike)
